Today I want to share two photography books that I found helpful and inspiring. The first is Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. The number one thing I stress about is knowing how to work Manual mode on your camera. It opens up all new windows and doors. You are in control of how your picture turns out, not your camera. If you are struggling with learning how ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed all work together to get a correct exposure, then this book is what you need! He breaks it down for you and is such an easy read, so you don’t feel like you are reading your camera manual. He has photos as examples, explains his settings, and gives you assignments to practice what you learned. I wish I would have known about this book when I was starting out.
Now if you haven’t heard about Jose Villa, you are missing out. He is amazing at what he does, to say the least. Every photo he produces is stunning and inspiring. Though he shoots film, in Fine Art Wedding Photography he shares tips that can be applied to both digital and film photographers. This too is an easy read. I love how he even discussed his business approach to his photography. The photos inside are gorgeous. I cannot say enough great things about this book. You will just have to get it to see for yourself.![]()

I’ve learned from work that photography is very intense and the more help you have from books, professionals ect.. the easier it is. Thanks for being so wonderful. love you!
