curves : photoshop tip

I use an s-curve or a bump curve every so often to add a little life to my photo. I usually make sure to bring the curve back down so that the blacks don’t get to washed out and light., but it always depends on the photo. It is such an easy way to add some pop to your photo.

If for some reason, you don’t have your Layers tab showing in Photoshop go here : Windows > Layers. After that, go to the bottom of your Layers Tab and click on the button that is a circle filled in half dark/half light. From there you will see in the options Curves. Once you click it, it will pop up in your Adjustments tab. You can play from there. Sometime I will even do a big s-curve but then adjust the opacity of it in my Layers Tab. Have fun!

Here is a Before & After.
